Harley Quinn lovers are very well aware of how passionate and obsessive the character is. Of all DC characters, she has the reputation of never really being able to get over something - or someone - she loved.

We all know Harley Quinn's past. From being a humble psychiatrist, Dr Harleen Quinzel's life changed forever after meeting the deadly criminal Joker as her patient. She lost all sense of herself when she began her professional relationship with him and became his partner-in-crime. For years, Quinn dealt with Joker's abuse out of the assumption that her feelings were reciprocated. But after realizing the villain's toxic influence, she stepped out on her own and left the Joker behind for good.
But what if we tell you there's a more obsessive villain in town who will make Harley look almost stable in comparison? During Harley Quinn's journey to Metropolis, the members of her gang locate a facility for the souls of metahumans and search among the convicts to see who might be able to assist. One of the first metahumans Harley spots is the semi-recurring Superman antagonist, Obsession, aka Superwoman.
Dana Dearden, a former Superman fangirl, made every effort to win the Man of Steel's attention. To effortlessly approach Superman, she even stole mystical items, only to assault the hero when her attempts were rejected. Her obsession lasted a while, and her passion was something that grew every day and made her wind up in Hell, an arguably worse fate than anything that ever befell Harley Quinn. Obsession assumed that she knew who Superman was even before getting to know him and the antagonism that followed was the result of her image of the hero clashing with reality.
While Harley recognizes how her life was turned upside down and what mistakes she made with Joker, it seems that Obsession doesn't possess the same awareness. She thinks her only crime was loving Superman too much. Do you think you know any other DC villain with an obsession worse than Obsession? Do let us know in the comments below.
