The Houston Astros have traded for Baltimore Orioles outfielder Trey Mancini, who will immediately slot into the middle of their lineup.

Mancini was a questionable add, if only because teams didn't know if the Baltimore Orioles were going to be buyers or sellers.

However, after a front-office debate, the Orioles opted to trade away Mancini since he's in the final year of his contract.

In the weeks leading up to the trade, O's fans let their objections be known on the subject. He has been with the organization since 2013. He made his major league debut for the team in 2016 and then beat cancer in 2020 before returning as the AL Comeback Player of the Year in 2021.

Mancini is slashing .268/.347/.404 on the season. His final at-bat for the Orioles at Camden Yards was an inside-the-park home run, so he gave them something to remember him by.

With the Orioles playing in Arlington on Monday, Mancini was seen by reporters saying his goodbyes on the field.
