Rob Wilkinson looks to keep his streak of stoppages going against Delan Monte.
The PFL Playoffs are back with Anthony Pettis vs. Stevie Ray headlining the card on Aug. 5, 2022. This show will kick off the light heavyweight and lightweight divisions, with fighters in both groups looking to win the tournament and leave with a massive payout. Rob Wilkinson is in such a position to take home one of the sport's biggest prizes, in one of the industry's biggest venues.
I'm very excited. I'm excited that it's happening in Madison Square Garden, that's kind of unreal to me, Wilkinson said during media day. Every fighter wants to fight here. It's awesome that it's happening in a few days' time.
Coming into this contest, Wilkinson is riding a four-fight win streak that includes the last two that took place in the PFL cage. His career also includes two fights in the UFC where he dropped bouts to Israel Adesanya and Siyar Bahadurzada. Overall, he will bring a 15-2 professional record into his bout against Delan Monte.
He's aggressive, he comes out quite wild. My style works really well for that. My technical boxing is a lot better than his, Wilkinson said. I think he will feel my power and I'll be able to keep him on the outside. I'll be finishing the fight for sure.
Delan Monte is a violent striker that pushes the fight forward
Monte comes into this fight with a 9-2 record. Most of his fights took place in Brazil, but that was before he stepped into the PFL where he put together a 1-1 record. His last appearance was at PFL 4 where he defeated Emiliano Sordi via technical knockout less than two minutes into the first round.
