The San Diego Padres made the biggest splash of the MLB Trade Deadline as they have acquired outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell for a slew of prospects.

Details have changed a bit, since Eric Hosmer (who would go from San Diego to Washington in the deal) has a no-trade clause to the Nationals. He could either be removed from the or could hear to a third team. Either way, it will be the biggest trade of the trade deadline and one of the biggest trades in MLB Trade Deadline history.

Former Chicago White Sox manager and current TV pre- and post-game analyst Ozzie Guillen is a fan of the move.

He put his thoughts on San Diego's return very succinctly on Twitter.

White Sox: Ozzie Guillen weighs in on Padres trade deadline

It's easy to see why former White Sox manager and current analyst Ozzie Guillen is a fan of what the Padres have done.

As of this publication, they have acquired outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell from the Nationals. They have also traded for Brewers closer and four-time All-Star Josh Hader without giving up any of their top prospects. They also extended starting pitcher Joe Musgrove to a five-year deal for $100 million. And all of this has happened in the last 24 hours.

Even with the Juan Soto/Josh Bell trade, the Padres could do more before the trade deadline in four and a half hours (6 p.m. E.T.) However, even if they are done, they are clearly the winners of the trade deadline for all 30 teams thus far.

They have shown that they want to win and with Fernando Tatis Jr. (former White Sox prospect) coming back from the IL in the near future, the Padres will be a force to be reckoned with.

But Ozzie Guillen still really wishes that he would be their manager this year instead of Bob Melvin.
